Natural Juice Recipes to Power Up Your Day

Natural Juice Recipes to Power Up Your Day

Ever had those days where you just woke up but are already feeling tired? Just as you’re about to get off your bed, you get this sudden urge to lie back down and cuddle up to your pillows? If the answer is yes, then this is your lucky day because in this article, we will be talking about how to pump up some energy to your bones—through natural juice recipes.

Adding fresh homemade juices to your daily routine will surely help you start your day right. These recipes are great for beginners because they only require a few minutes of preparation time. All you need are some ripe fruits and vegetables, a juicer, and some palate cleanser like apple or cucumber slices or celery stalks.

The health benefits of drinking fresh juice are well-known, but you don't need a special machine to reap these benefits. Not only does it give you the energy you need to start your day, but it also serves as a detoxifier that will cleanse your body.

Just ready a few ingredients and some basic equipment and you can start making juices right away. So let’s get to it so you can start juicing your way up to a fun and energy-filled day.

But before we jump into that, here are the fruits and vegetables you can use in your recipes and a quick overview on how they can help you and your body.

Apples: Easy to find at the grocery store, apples are deliciously sweet and contain anti-inflammatory properties. They also contain pectin, which promotes good bacteria for the gut.

Carrots: Another sweet vegetable, carrots improve eye health and are rich in vitamins and minerals like biotin and vitamin A. One cup of carrot juice contains roughly 9 grams of the sugar, which the body can immediately metabolize for energy.

Celery: Hydrating and nourishing, celery has been known to help skin woes, supports digestion, and reduces inflammation. Juicing celery regularly may help boost energy levels, balance hormones, reduce inflammation, and alleviate skin issues (like acne, psoriasis, and eczema) and many other symptoms.

Cucumber: Water-rich, cucumber contains antioxidants and tastes mild in juices. It’s also known to help with liver and kidney function.

Ginger: An energy booster and mood enhancer, by improving blood circulation and increasing metabolism, ginger can give you more energy. Plus, as it improves digestion, your metabolism will also improve and energy will be more available.

Kale: A powerhouse of nutrients, kale contains high levels of Vitamin K, calcium, antioxidants, and more.

Kiwi: Drinking fresh kiwi juice delivers vitamin B and C as well as potassium. These life-enriching nutrients contribute to increased energy, stamina, and muscle recovery.

Lemon: Packed with essential nutrients, lemons provide a tart, acidic flavor to healthy juice recipes.

Oranges: Citrus fruits, in general, are known to support immunity. Loaded with vitamin C and antioxidants, citrus can help protect you against cancer. A single cup can provide more than 100% of the body’s daily needs for vitamin C. It also provides about 10% of the daily carbs from sugars, which gives the body an energy boost. Citrus, as a whole, can increase energy and vitality.

Pineapple: A delicious energy-booster, pineapple contains natural sugars, vitamin C, and vitamin B1 to boost your metabolism, energy, and overall wellness.

Spinach: Spinach juice is high in antioxidants and beneficial compounds that can protect your vision, decrease blood pressure, and improve hair and skin health.

1 cucumber
1 green apple
1-2 in piece ginger
1 lemon (peeled)

Afternoon Pick-Me-Up

1 cup raspberries
1/2 pineapple, peeled and cored
1/2 lemon, peeled
1 cup spinach
1 knob ginger

2 apples
3 carrots
1 lemon (peeled)
1 -2 in piece ginger

Tropi-Kale

2 cups kale
2 cups pineapple
1 orange (peeled)

Kiwi Green Apple Spinach

2 apples
1 cup spinach
2 kiwis (peeled)

For Orange Juice

4 oranges
2 Red apples
500 g carrots

Hydrating Greens

1 cup spinach
1 large cucumber
3 stalks celery
1 small apple
1 lemon, peeled

Make sure to go from lowest speed to highest speed when using the juicer. Fruits and veggies have a different variation of pulp, seeds, and other factors. The different speeds help take that into consideration to separate the pulp and seeds from the juice, making for a cleaner and better juice.

Wash the fruits and vegetables thoroughly. Wash prior to peeling or cutting. This makes sure that bacteria doesn’t get into your delicious juices. When adding greens into juices, depending on the recipe, try to intersperse greens with other juicing ingredients. This helps make sure the smaller greens get juiced.

Cut larger fruits and vegetables into smaller pieces that can easily fit into the chute of your juicer. Quarter the apples, half any citrus, and quarter cucumbers.

Storing your leftover juice

Fresh juice is best when consumed immediately or within a few hours. But you can always leave it inside your freezer for a couple of minutes to get that cool refreshing taste. If you need to store the juice for later, drink it within 72 hours, but most recommended is within the first 24 hours.

If you won’t finish the juice within the recommended 24-72 hours, you can always freeze any leftovers. Freeze your fresh juice in an ice cube maker. When frozen into cubes, remove from the ice cube mold and place in an airtight ziplock or freezer bag. This will last for up to 2 to 3 months.
